Virtual: Rachel Cole on Archiving the Past & Present of Transportation · November 15, 12:00 pm ET

What are transportation collections? What can we learn from them? What do they tell us about policy choices and transit investment? Join us on Wednesday, November 15 at 12:00 pm EST with Rachel Cole of Northwestern University’s Transportation Library for a virtual talk on archiving the past and present of transportation. Plus, if you’re interested in the influencing the future of transportation, we’re giving away 10 copies of Veronica O. Davis’ book, Inclusive Transportation. Just fill out this form and we’ll randomly pick 10 names to receive books.

Many Chances to Remake the Transit Map

Ever wanted to reshape the map of the T? Well, there’s many chances to do so this winter. Starting with our transit-themed Cartography Challenge, we’re looking for speculative or imaginary maps of transit in Boston with applications running through  December 19, 2023. For the month of November, we’re also running a fundraising auction where you can bid on “renaming” your favorite stations on the Red, Orange, Green, and Blue lines. Finally, as the holiday season approaches, the Boston Society for Architecture is hosting a transit-themed gingerbread cookie competition called Transit: Boston on the Move. In our opinion, there’s no better (and tastier!) pairing than a day of Getting Around Town and some cookie baking. Be sure to register your team by November 17 in order to participate.
