Davis shines a light on the inequitable and often destructive practice of transportation planning and engineering while offering principles for how to build a more inclusive system in the future. In Person: From the Vault – Boylston Street edition · October 27, 2:00pm ET In partnership with the Mayor’s Office of New Urban Mechanics, our next From the Vault will explore how Boylston Street has changed over time through historic maps, photographs, and other documents—and to think about how it might change in the future. This drop-in event puts the City’s latest street redesign—a new parking-protected bike lane between Massachusetts Avenue and Arlington Street and bus lane between Ring Road and Arlington Street—into historical perspective. Explore the Neighborhood Histories Project Join the Neighborhood Histories Project to explore, document and share your history. The Neighborhood Histories Project is a series of community-based workshops led by Boston By Foot and BPL branch libraries that supports local residents as they explore, document and share the stories of individual neighborhoods. Workshops will be held throughout the fall in Dorchester Lower Mills, and continue early next year in Egleston Square. |
