Freelance Position: Allmaps UX/UI Developer

We’re looking for an experienced and creative UX/UI developer who can both design and implement user interfaces to help us refine existing features in the Allmaps platform, incorporate design feedback from user testing, and ultimately design and implement new user interfaces within the Allmaps ecosystem. You’ll design and create user interfaces that are simple and fun to use, both on desktop computers and smartphones and you’ll work on a design system and reusable components that will be used throughout the Allmaps project. The Boston Public Library holds a remarkable collection of approximately 500 bird’s-eye view maps from the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries. How were these maps produced? How accurate are they? What sorts of historical information can we learn from them? Join the us with the Jamaica Plain Historical Society at the Jamaica Plain Branch Library on Thursday, October 5 at 6:00 pm ET for a deep dive on bird’s-eye view maps of Boston, mapmaking techniques and more.
