Welcome to our newest LMEC staff!

It’s been a busy summer here, as we’ve had five high school and college interns working with us this summer on creating new layers for Atlascope and as we’ve brought on our new Northeastern co-op student, Micaela Kahn, serving as our Visitor Services and Exhibition Assistant. If you stop by our gallery at the Central Library in the next few months, it’s likely Mica who will greet you at the front desk.

Join us on Monday, August 14 at 12:00 pm ET with Dr. Kelly Erby for a virtual talk on her book, Restaurant Republic: The Rise of Public Dining in Boston. Restaurant Republic sheds light on how commercial dining both reflected and helped shape growing fragmentation along lines of race, class, and gender—from the elite Tremont House, which served fashionable French cuisine, to such plebeian and ethnic venues as oyster saloons and Chinese chop suey houses

Job Search: Curator of Prints in BPL Special Collections

This is a unique opportunity to join the newly reconstituted Special Collections team, working closely with many of the BPL’s signature collections in a highly visible public institution. The incoming Curator will have the opportunity to make significant contributions both to public accessibility of rare materials at the BPL and to the many fields of learning and scholarship that rely on these collections.
