How well do you know your Massachusetts towns? How many Massachusetts towns can you name off the top of your head? Ten? Twenty? Fifty? With this new guessing game, try your hand at naming every town in Massachusetts. At 351 towns total, only the bravest and boldest will make it all the way! Two Events on Climate Justice and Politics with Olúfẹ́mi O. Táíwò · Nov 16 Join us for two in-person events with the philosopher Olúfẹ́mi O. Táíwò as we discuss climate justice and social movements. At 3:30 pm, Táíwò will lead a roundtable discussion on organizing for local and global climate justice with Boston-area organizers, activists, and policymakers. At 6:00 pm, Táíwò will be in conversation with Samia Hesni to discuss his new book, Elite Capture: How the Powerful Took Over Identity Politics (And Everything Else). Now Accepting Applications: Spring 2023 Undergraduate Internships Hey Boston undergrads, we want to work with you! We’re looking to hire a cohort of undergraduate interns focused on geospatial research, K-12 education, and development & fundraising for the 2023 spring semester. Hybrid: Author Talk — Dr. Carolyn Finney on Black Faces, White Spaces · Dec 3, 2:00pm ET On December 3, storyteller, cultural geographer, and accidental environmentalist Carolyn Finney, PhD will join Boston Public Library President David Leonard to discuss Dr. Finney’s book, Black Faces, White Spaces: Reimagining the Relationship of African Americans to the Great Outdoors. Leventhal City Prize Our colleagues at the Leventhal Center for Advanced Urbanism at MIT have awarded the 2022 Norman B. Leventhal City Prize to Drawing Together, a social and ecological resilience project in New York City. The call for submissions sought proposals that focused on digital urbanism — investigating how life in cities can be improved using digital tools that are equitable and responsive to social and environmental conditions. |
